Every element of the carpet, from pattern design to colour, material, pile depth and knotting technique is monitored throughout the fabrication process. Our quality control happens daily as a dialogue between the Altai Studio in Milan and the Atelier Altai in India. Every type of bespoke carpet is unique and exclusive, never to be reproduced, because our tailored approach aims at creating a precise identity each time. Research and experimentation with different types of materials through the years – from silk to hemp, from wool to linen – resulted in the development of weaves able to satisfy the most diverse needs and contexts.

The Altai Studio develops a variety of production methods according to the requirements of each special interior. Our projects include private homes, yacht interiors, suites, halls and public areas of grand hotels. As well as collaborating with designers and architects, the Altai Studio now works with important design, fashion and furniture brands on the creation of their own ranges of rugs. Dimensions and colours are infinite.
